Formulation and in vitro study of nanoparticles loaded Anredera cordifolia leaf extract as anti-acne

نویسندگان

چکیده

Background: The ethanolic extract of Anredera cordifolia (AC) leaves has previously been investigated to have antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acnes. An active compound propionibacterium acnes was flavonoid. Objective: This study aimed compare antimicrobial differences between nanoparticles and alone. Method: AC were extracted then formulated into using chitosan as the polymer sodium tripolyphosphate (Na-TPP) a crosslinker. nanoparticle-preparation method ionic gelation, while used disc method. Result: Nanoparticle evaluations showed an average size 84.93±15.36nm, polydispersity index 0.22, percent entrapment efficiency 55.06±1.05%, yield 11.00±1.27%. Based on statistical t-test analysis, differed significantly from alone in activity. Conclusion: Nanoparticles increase effectiveness through synergism effect flavonoid content extract. Hence serve good potency deliver for acne therapy.
